I just looked up the actual law and it’s true. My mind is blown that this doesn’t comprise a clear violation of free speech rights, but apparently it’s a real law.

As someone who’s worked as an election judge, this is absolutely a thing! Don’t wear political things to do your voting, guys. ): It may seem silly but at least in my state, we were told to ask people to change, take off their buttons, or turn their shirts inside-out before voting.

I believe the reason is that it’s considered electioneering in a polling place? And the polling place is supposed to be neutral ground– that’s why there’s even numbers of republicans and democrats working there!
